Hello Beth.
So pleased all went well for you. Sounds like a long day you had but they do keep a good eye on you. First one over so must be good. I should imagine the steriod will keep you awake having it in such a big dose.
I had a call from RA nurse to say I have been accepted so details have been passed over to admissions so I should hear now within next 2 weeks. A am off tomorrow for 3 nights to Valencia with my Mike - so lovely really excited.
Let us know in a couple days how you feeling ?

well done beth. let us know how you are feeling and getting on. I made the decision on monday to go ahead with the ritux so i should have a letter from hospital to start beginning of nov. not looking forward to next few weeks of just pain-killers. but to be honest if i stayed with the cimzia it was certainly not working as well as before so would not be any better to stay with it. thanks for letting us know how the infusion went. How long was you at the hospital for? sue v xx

Hi Sue
I arrived at hospital 8am because I had to have B cell blood tests done 1st (a mix up in communication from rheumatology, so when I asked they said 'not necessary' but then when I double checked they said it WAS needed!) The staff didn't arrive till 8.20 and I began the pre infusion stuff at 9. Because the infusion had to be interupted, it took longer - so I finished infusion at 3.15 but couldn't leave till 5.15, as it is necessary to have obs for every 30 mins until 2 hours post infusion. Felt wiped out yesterday and feeling ok today but still quite tired.

Hi Belinda Feeling ok but still on the tired side. I have had several little areas of inflammation/pain since just before the 1st ritux - I assume this is due to the inflix wearing off and before the ritux becomes effective - if it is going to - which could be 6-12 weeks post 1st infusion - I think. These areas have moved about my body - just like it was before the inflix began to work. You forget just what it was like - when you haven't had to put up with it for a while Next infusion due Tuesday - hoping to be able to report wonderful results!!!

Beth,
glad you doing ok. Are you working ? It sounds like it wipes you out a bit. Hope your second infusion goes well.
Sue, Hope your goes ok. I am due to go on Wednesday for my first infusion - really nervous I must say. See my GP tomorrow to make sure I should be ok as I have taken my last day of antibiotics today for bad sinus.
Good luck all. Lets stick together on here

Went to my GP - he was great actually. Didn't rush me, but he did say he didn't have anyone else on his books with RXT ? ? ekk.
Took my bloods and he thinks I will be well enough for Wednesday. Although so nervous about this I really now want it brought on as they say.
Thanks girls.

All the best for tomorrow Rose. I am going for my assessment next week with anticipated first infusion early November Suspect I might fail the assessment though as I have had to stay on a large dose of steroids so not sure what they'll decide to do with me Good luck, keep us posted, Lyn x

Well - 2nd one done without any problems this time – thankfully. It was also completed more quickly and I was away by 2pm – no need to wait for a couple of hours after either. Still tiring though, but not as much as last time. I am still having little episodes of inflammation/swelling but only to be expected I think.
Rose
How did yours go? – ok I hope – I have been thinking about you And to answer your question - I am still working - I only do part time and fortunately have only missed 2 weeks off work when I was relatively newly diagnosed. It has been a massive struggle at times but I haven't wanted to loose that independence besides which I would have gone loopy(well even more) being at home all day and not been able to physically do anything.
Do let us know how you got on.
